Meniscus of most liquids are curved downwards.
The correct way to read it is:
1.Position your eyes at the same level as the meniscus.
2.The mark at the bottom of the meniscus is taken as your reading.
For the meniscus of the Mercury curves upwards.

I have learnt about the meniscus reading and the conversion formulas were helpful but the text in the 3rd video was abit unclear.
